In the wake of my father’s sudden passing, I turned to sacred plants in search of guidance and solace.
What began with a retreat in the Netherlands soon led me to the Putumayo region of Colombia, where, over several ceremonies, I entered the world of Yagé—Ayahuasca, the “Vine of the Dead.”
Through these encounters I was able to begin processing both the weight of loss and the bond with my father. Yet the medicine revealed more than grief. It shifted my perception, awakening a visual language within me and attuning me to the rhythms of nature. Guided by the spirit of the forest, I discovered not only a way of mourning but a new way of seeing.
This project traces that transformation—an inner and outer journey through Putumayo, where the landscapes of memory, spirit, and vision intertwine.
